St Kilda for many years has been considered the heart of Melbourne’s alternative music scene and a major player in the arts community. From the Crystal Ballroom and Price of Wales on Fitzroy St to the Greyhound and of course the ESPY, St Kilda for many years has been lucky to have had many high profile band rooms and fill them with world class talent.

The Vineyard, in keeping with tradition has been host to thousands of live acts including the infamous 1AM Thursday night/Friday morning gig, The Graveyard now 12 years running, whilst also supporting other genres of music.

In honour of our rock and roll history, the Vineyard is bringing dirty outta control rock n roll back to the South on Saturday nights. Saturdays will now be dedicated to rock bands. Old and new and everything in-between. Saturday will be the new place to be for the finest in local in rock talent south side.

Kicking of proceedings is favourite of the Melbourne scene Fuck the Fitzroy Doom Scene and local up and comers the Dead Amigos. Doors open at 8pm with $5.90 stubbies amongst other drink and food specials with bands wrapping up round 11pm and entry will be free, but while most venues pull up stumps round 11 the Vinny will still be going till the early AM hours so stick around buy another drink and have a chat to the band, or arrive early and have a meal from its wide menu. St Kilda for many years was the home of live music in Melbourne and its now returning to a mid-size venue. With the ESPY reopening soon the South will rise again.

St Kilda Rocks @ The Vineyard launches Saturday 16 June with Fuck the Fitzroy Doom Scene and the Dead Amigos, Free Entry.
